I would say that a write up is not to get "a commitment", it is to read body language and buying signals. It is also true that you talk " car on your feet, and price on your seat". If you have to talk car on your seat, than you need to get up and go outside before you open your mouth about price and start talking you gross away. Confusing the two is dangerous, it will cost you gross, and or,the sale, every time.
