What do you tell someone that says they are waiting for insurance money or their tax return or something like that?

I am still what is called a "green pea" in the car business but this happened to me on my last deal. The lady was waiting on a court settlement. After an exceptional demo, I even had her son hop in the trunk to demo the emergency truck latch. I closed it and he immediatly found the glowing handle, the kid thought that was sooo "cool" he was about 9. Mom was laughing liked me already. They told me about 5 times before the write up that they weren't buying the car today, I just chuckled and said no problem. Anyway we got to the write up and I told them the best thing to do would be just finance it and pay it off when they get the cash or put it away and earn interest on it. The reason they should finance it though is because if they pay cash for it it will never show as a good account on their credit report. If they just pay it right away when they get the cash they can still get credit for having paid off a financed car. They thought that was great and when my manager came out we sealed the deal letting them know that we call it a 30 day contract and in case for some reason the money doesn't come as soon as they expect or they have un forseen circumstances the car is financed and they can just pay the loan off in the regular payments. by the way anyone have any good things for me to try e-mail me please!
