I recently had a customer tell me that she needed to talk with her husband before she could buy. This was after she had committed and we went through the negotiating process. What should I have told her?

I ask my customer, "Why isn't your wife/husband shopping with you now?" They sometimes reply with things like, she's too busy, she hates the car buying process, he works lots of hours, we've got six kids and it's too much trouble to bring them all out to shop, etc.
Whatever my customer tells me, I use as reasons why they SHOULD do business without them now.
