Here's what I have done in the past. I go to Kinko's and have a simple flyer copied. I distribute it to all the homes within a four square block area of my home every four or five months. It's always a nice little walk and my kids sometimes go with me to "help". You can't put them in their mailbox (mail carriers get pissed, it must be against the law or something) so we place them in the newspaper box or on their doors.
I use the same flyer for our neighborhood pinic (once a year)and for all the teams my kids are on. I have ocassionally passed these out to the small businesses close to my home but I still haven't got a response from those.
All of this is over and above the newsletters and usual follow up I do with my existing customer base.

That's a great idea, Trent. I've been doing exactly that for just over a year now, and it works great. I've been in the biz for about four years and I wish I had started doing the picture thing at the very beginning!
