Topic Description: I take no ups, only what I generate on the phone and through the Internet. Is there anyone else that would like to share ideas? What can can someone do to improve their telephone skills or the effectiveness of their Internet department/business?

I have been finding that it's often difficult to manage the Internet, take phone calls, and then take ups. I do all three here. My major concern would be "how to sell them over the Internet". How can others not take ups and still be successful on the Internet?

Hey I find that management has to be open to the new world of the internet. My management is very helpful as they allow me to quote price over the net. The thought is and this is hard for the old time thinking of saleing cars is that you have nothing if you dont give them price so there is nothing to lose. Most car people fear that they will shop your price and you have to get them in the store, and yes you have to get them in but if they have found you over the internet then they can find dealer invoice anyway so be up front with them and tell them what you will sale the car for. Respect there wishes and don't try to work them. I have been very lucky so far. This week I have sold to internet buyers both from out of town. When I am not doing emails I am on the phone. I don't leave my office except for an occasional break and I stay away from the chat sessions with the other sales people. I will send post cards to everyone in my data base each month. Right now I am in the process of sending out Labor day cards. Most of the people in my data base I have not met except on the phone or internet and I dont care that they may have purchased a car elsewhere because I figure no one else is following them up as I am and I will get them the next time. Would love to keep in touch I love this topic Thanks
